I was a huge fan of the original three Bard's Tale games that I played on my Apple IIc. I would be more than willing/happy to purchase a new, Bard's Tale IV.

I would love to see a Bards Tale IV. I recently got the Ultimate RPG Archives collection and really enjoy playing the Bards Tale games, it brings back great memories and I'm sure a Bards Tale IV would be in great demand from many when it comes out. On another topic, I hope someone can help me with. I'm playing Bards Tale III, thief of fate game right now. One of my spellcasters learned 3 levels from the Conjurer and 4 levels from Magician classes. When I go to that Review Board in the town, the old man only lets me choose 2 options to change Mage class, which again is Conjurer or Magician?? I should have the option to change to Sorcerer class right?? If anyone can kindly help me with this, please automatically convert my spellcasters to Archmages if I complete the first quest? Thanks!

I would rush home during my lunch hour at primary school and play Bard's Tale. I even brought my Commodore-64 on a summer trip to Turkey in order to play Bard's Tale III. I still believe this is the best game ever made and I wholly hope that BT IV will be made.

I've played every Bards Tale and every couple of years replay them. They were groundbreaking when they came out and I would pay $100 for a new one based on the old series.

all the bards tale series were fantastic games. i played them all for hours on end and had some of my greatest times with this series. why there was never a bt4 brought out i cannot say, especially due to the popularity the bards tales had. that said i would definately pay a handsome sum for a fourth bt4. i reckon it was the simplicity in which you 'got on with the game' tha appealed to me most.

i loved playing the bard's tale series for the apple 2e and hoped that they can can up with another bard's tale for the pc but upgrade the graphics and engine the one they made for the ps2 and xbox is no good they should had it the orignal way that you can fight with 5 other characters plus the bard but let's make a new bard's tale even if they start back at the first bard's but with better graphics and upgrade to the future of rpg's

Still one of the very best set of games I have ever played, Hours and hours of fighting the barbarians in Harkyn's castle, the endless searching for the right place to shift to the next realm :) Ah I long for the days of good story-telling and game play over the "chrome" of most of the games now released. Enough with waiting for someone else to do it lets just make BTIV for ourselves as a fan based non-commercial game for our own enjoyment...

i still remember when i first got into bt almost 20 years ago, i was hooked from the first day on. countless days of beatin up 4x 99 berserkers for xp in bt 1, searchin for lagoth zanta and finally travellin through the dimensions to finish of tarjan. It was for sure the best RPG series ever, new games with their modern graphic and multiplayer function dont even come close to it, they got "no soul" you cant beat the legend, i would for sure buy bt IV on the first day it would be issued.

The Bard's Tale is THE best computer RPG I have ever played. I remember when I first played through Bard's Tale I. I was 13 or 14 and every day when i got home from school it would be the 1st thing i'd load up with my dad. Now when I buy an RPG the 1st thing i notice is it isn't bards tale. I don't need good graphics when the gameplay is excellent. And i detest the twitch factor in just about every RPG they make now... I like thinking about what i'm doing instead of having my mouse scramble all over the place while im pounding on keys... thats it, Gary

I would LOVE a new Bards Tale 4. The first three are so deeply ingrained in my early childhood RPG gaming experience that I couldn't imagine being as into today's games without them. The second was my favorite, however any of them would be a welcome RERELEASE for me to revisit now. So make another, or rerelease the existing games please!

The Bard's Tale series was definitely one of the defining sets of RPG games, doing great things considering it was on the C64. It's too bad gluttonous companies like Electronic Arts would prefer that NOBODY have the rights to continue with it than think it won't sell 1000000 copies to the brainless mass-market who wants more DOOM clones to sate them.

I loved playing the bard's tale back on my C64 along with some of the earlier Ultima games. But the problem solving in the many quests is what I enjoyed the most about the bard's tale saga's. I spent many nights pondering the labrynths in the dungeon crawling universe into the wee waking hours whilst my parents unknowingly slept in their slumber. Unto this day I always keep a steady supply of those holy hand grenades and Zen arrows at bay. Regards, Avid gamer.

Bard's Tale.. What can I say here? This is the sole game that held my attention for many many many hours days, weeks and months and months and months!! It holds a special place in my memory that I will never ever forget. I remember the first time I was reading through a mag and found the 99 beserker Code!! Please, for all that is good and right in this world, bring upon us all, Bard's Tale IV!!!!

After it I started to play real RPG like D&D and so on, now i only play RPG or Turn based RPG. But BT 3 was the ONE that changed my way to play. Bring itback

They don't make games like this anymore. Todays games are definately more beautifull, but the real fun is in exploring and creating strong characters in a dangerous setting. With all the emphasis on art, I find todays rpg games quickly become boring. Somehow, the bard's tale never did.

I've owned every copy of Bard's Tale(and for several different systems) purchased individually and as part of other collections, as well as the all but in name Bard's Tale IV Dragon Wars. Devil Whiskey, a more recent but very similar game in spirit to the Bard's Tale series is still enjoyable, even though it was obviously produced under serious bugetary constraints. A slightly higher budget, and hence better overall game of another venerable series was also one of the more enjoyable CRPGs of recent years, that one being Wizardry 8.

I haven't played these games in over 10 years, maybe more. But, when they were on the market they dominated the competition for game play RPGs. I solved them all and had wonderful characters that I advanced through each of the games. I wish I could bring them back to life in a new version for XP. Graphics don't matter so much when game play stinks. We need more games like The Bard's Tale series.

Simply the finest series of RPG's in the history of the genre. A genuine adventure party gaming experience combined with an endless array of items and NPC's continues to make this series the benchmark for serious dungeon gaming. Imitations need not apply...

Hello, If this petition is for a sequel to 'The Brad's Tale' console game. Then I am all for it. Though if you are just interested in a game that follows on from 'Thief of Fate'. I'm not so sure. The original version of this game were very good in their own day. They are definitly alittle bit too dated now. The game play would prove to be alittle bit too tedious for my likeing. After all, alot of games today have really spoilt us and the demand for more playability and less time drawing grid maps as you slowly progrees through large multi level dungeons.

I am a very big fan of the bard's tale games and still play them to this day. I would love to see a new bard's tale game that is played in the same style of the originals but with better and updated graphics much like the shifting suns devil whiskey game. (The bard's legacy.) I will keep my hopes up and someday hopefully see a new bard's tale 4

Bring back the Bard's Tale!!! The originals can get updated with newer graphics and an automap. But please keep the same turn based style that we all love from the Bard's Tale games. And why not start a new Bard's Tale Trilogy as well. These games were the best games ever produced and if new Bard's tale games come out I will buy them all up in a heartbeat and play them until I fall asleep from exhaustion. Bring Back the Bard!!! -Greybeard

Hey, The Bard's Tale is my most played game. I still play "Tales of the unknown" ignoring the bad graphics. The gameplay is great, the idea is fun, it's just entertaining. Why not give us fans a "Bard's Tale IV"? I'll pay any price if the game is as entertaining as parts 1-3.

For me Bards Tale was my first addiction. It got me reading, writing, thinking strategically, and gaming! i actually made my on quest book for this game. i would love to see this title, but let's keep the game like the original. It was the best! A game like the original with pumped up creature, and character portraits would be sweet.

I played Bards Tale in januari 1988 on tapes with the Commodore 64 and that was then the best game I have ever played and also the first roleplaying game at the computer for me. Bards Tale opened up the roleplaying genre for me and since then I´ve played all major roleplaying games on the PC.

I want Bards Tale 4 ! i played Bards Tale 1 once on Amstrad CPC, for years. Again and again and over and over again, later on CPC emulators, and i play it even today! I think, by todays standards, there is almost no way to create a simple game like Bards Tale and make a profit from it. So i even took the next step and i am creating a clone of Bards Tale 1, with all the original maps, spells, monsters and character-classes and even dungeon-textures, but with a new raycasting-engine, 1024x768 pixels, truecolor, old english font, and who knows what i will add... I know i will never be able to spread it, not even as freeware, as EA holds the copyright. But, hey - i like Bards Tale so much, i create my own! It would be waste to see such a classic series not be brought back. With games like Mario Brothers and others make comebacks; why don't you bring back the game that all role players played.

There is no question in my mind that making a fourth game in the Bard's Tale series is a very lucrative endeavor. It is a shame that EA has not taken some type of advantage of the opportunity. Please, EA, creat Bard's Tale IV!

I would pay $75 for a Bard's Tale 4. The real deal. I played it when it came out in the late 80s. Great game. Now, I would want a real RPG, not an action RPG.

I was 9 when the first Bard's Tale came out, I played it until I got further than my older brother. That was sweet, but it has made me a lifelong fanatic of the series. Purchasing the new Bard's Tale game, just so that I could get my hands on the originals is just scratching the surface of what I would go through or pay for a new installment. Games come and go, the Bard's Tale always lives on in my memory. There is almost no price point that I wouldn't scrap together to play a new installment.

This game has a spirit and feel that is unique. It deserves another treatment along the same lines, only with updated graphics and sound.

A very memorable part of my teenage years was the Bard's Tale Trilogy, and I'd love to be able to carry on through another adventure. Playing the games eventually fit like a glove, and I look for others like it all the time. Good on this website for allowing fans to re-live these adventures, and dream of more. Jon

I first played Bard's Tale in the late 80's, when I didn't have regular access to any PC. It shocked and intrigued me. When I bought my first computer (1990, An 80286 with VGA graphics, weeee!!) it was the first game I installed and couldn't leave it until completed (it ruined half a college year :( ). Man, it made me fall in love with my favorite computer games genre: RPGs!! One thing for sure: if BT IV is ever made I'll reserve my copy before the guy at the store even knew about the game. .

I first got interesting computer and fantasy gaming with the first Bard's Tale on the C64. I would love to play a new game in the series, even one that was more updated to today's standards. Long live the Bard! .

The Bard's Tale series - particularly Bard's Tale III - rank among the best RPG games I have played (and I have been playing then for 20+ years). An EA funded edition with today's technology could produce an RPG masterpiece.

I started playing BT1 I think around 1985 when I was 15 and then BT2 and BT3 when they came out. I practically wasted much of my teenage years sitting in front of my apple IIe shuffleing the old 5 1/4" discs back and forth. It was all worth it though, it really tickled my imagination. I did find an msdos version of BT1 that runs on windows and continue to waste some of my time today, whenever I can get my kids to stop playing it. I wish I could get BT2 and BT3 in the same format to run on my pc. I would also buy a BT4 if it was created. I did buy the Bard's Tale for my xbox, it was pretty fun, solved it in a week which was nothing like the old ones. I still have yet to actually "solve" them. I am still having fun building my characters.

I played for hours and hours Bard's Tale III on the Commodore 64. Playing the Bard's Tale on the xBox was a delight. I can't help it but saying there is something very original about this RPG and the ability to have music generate the supernatural as opposed to pure magic.

I played all three Bard's Tales, but was thoroughly hooked on the 3rd one. I had it for my Commodore 64, and played it for so long, my disc drive would stop working from overheating. Just hearing the music from the game brings back fond feelings and memories. I would love a 4th one, and yes, it would be popular. Just wanted to add my 2 cents. .

I would be thrilled to see a 4th installment of the Bard's Tale series. A serious one. Not the "Gold & Clevage" type recently released. I would like to see an EPIC quest true to the original with 2x the character types, monsters, spells, items, etc, etc, etc. I would also like to see this done with a turn based "Chrono Trigger" or "Final Fantasy VII" style battle engine as you venture through the town(s), dungeons, villages, forests, mountains, etc, etc. MAKE THIS GAME, MAKE IT EPIC (2 or 3 DVD's worth of game), MAKE IT COMPLEX, GRAPHICALLY MINDBLOWING, MAKE THE REALM FREE ROAMING, AND UTTERLY MASSIVE IN SCALE (Possibly years to say you completed the game??), MAKE CERTAIN AREAS WHERE A RANDOM GENERATOR MAKES THE PLAY DIFFERENT EVERY QUEST, AND YOU WILL MAKE MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS....THERE ARE DROVES OF FANTASY/RPG FANATICS WHO NEVER EVEN HEARD OF BARD'S TALE THAT WOULD MORTGAGE THEIR HOMES GET THIS GAME!!!! TRUST ME!!!

Bard's Tale, now that brings back a lot of memories. I spent days playing that game, total immersion. Best computer game ever created, except Galaga (this shows both my age and the fact that I haven't gamed since 1986). For anyone who played Dungeons and Dragons, Bards Tale was a God send. I never got into the sequels, but I would certainly purchase and would love to play version IV (not the 3D game released in 2005).

The Release of BTIV will also make me happy. Please excuse my bad english. Iḿ from Germany and havent used my school-english for more than 9 Years.
