A finely crafted Bard's Tale movie would be awesome! At the very least it'd result in a remake of the original game...then surely the bard would hit the road for new adventures :)A bard barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build him better than he was before. Better, whistlin' stronger, playin' mandolin faster!

This game, above all others, defined video games for me. It's the reason I remember the C64 and got into programming, which I do for a living now.

After the self-reflexive, cynically trite and horrendously short excuse for a bard's tale we got from inXile, I think it is about time that attention was paid to the roots of oldschool CRPG tradition and that Bard's Tale IV is given the attention that it truly deserves. May this petition be the petition of fate and influence the future for not only the bard's tale series, but of cRPG's in general!

I absolutly loved these games on my Apple][GS. I would love to see a bards tale IV and would buy it in an instant. I actually would probably buy the original if they did a remake of the graphics and music.

Loved these games on my c-64! The "Tale" must continue. Even if the graphics stay true to the 80's the story will carry it through. The story is always the most important thing. If the story doesn't hold up it should just die, and everyone knows which one of the BT games should die.

I'm 34 from Ontario Canada. First played the Bards Tale in the late 80s on my Uncle's Apple IIGS. I beat the first game after a long summer of late nights and looking back I think it was one of the best games I've ever played. I went on the play part 2 and part 3. I think I finished 2 but never 3. Fastforward to 2007 where I found it online as an emulator IIGS version and played the first one again...Mapping and the whole deal...got all the way to mangar again!!! could not believe that after all the games and years it still was soooo much fun!!!If someone makes part 4 please just make it like part 1 or 2!!! Dont try to re-invent the wheel!!! ITS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!!!

I played BTIII on the Apple IIe. I remember killing all of my characters except Runeflinger and then casting Fatal Fist to get ridiculous experience.

Enjoyed the original Bard's Tale games back when PC Gaming was new. I now play mostly on an enhaced Toshiba laptop, running Windows XP. Just bought a new Toshiba Core 2 laptop running Windows Vista. Would like to see and buy a new Bards Tale series. In the meantime, I am playing Warrior's Tale by battlephase.com, ShadowFlare by Denyusha/Emurasoft and shortly will purchase Oblivion/Morrowind by Bethesda Softworks.

I'm motivated purely by nostalgia here but I would buy a modern PC recreation of this series just to revisit fleshed-out versions of the original characters in the series. I've played a few PC-based RPGs and played the first 2 in the Bards Tale series. I liked the game's simplicity and how "music" was an integral part of the plot, adding an interesting dimention to game-play.

An absolute masterpiece of a trilogy! Gazing back through the mists of nostalgia I feel indefectible affection for what can only be described as mike cranford & co's magnum opus. Most oft were the times I was working only to be lulled by the dulcet tones of the bard's "traveller's tune" gently wafting through my head! Who could of imagined the party's TITANIC denouement after finally vanquishing Tarjan in BT3? A truly EPIC trilogy; An Odyssey of Homeric proportions!! Come on all you BT devotees for IV is an utter OBLIGATION!!!!

I just came acroos this site and wow man. I'm 39 years old and some of my best memories as a kid was staying up until the sun came up playing bards tale. This site is great and of course I'm replaying them now. If there is any chance of a IV I'm all for it. Again, great site, everyone needs to keep it alive.

I have been a fan of the series since BardI was first released. If EA really doesn't want to do it and people are even going out of their way to make un-named clones of it why the hell don't you give the OK? It doesn't make sence to torture eveyone like this. I used to really like EA and still buy many of EA titles but I do it under duress. Bards tale isn't the only abandonware issue EA has and it really makes me sick to think all of their resources are being wasted on new crappy ideas instead of tried and true storylines like Bards tale. Thank you.

I played BT as a kid, and am replaying it now (2009). I think a game that had the creativity of the originals, on a modern system, would blow anything else out of the water! I'm sick of twitch games (a.k.a. FPS), and can't stomach the idea of paying a monthly fee to play (i.e. WoW). Good role-playing games are hard to come by. I beat Oblivion - it was okay. But no character party is a downer. Bring back BT!Thanks! I hope someone who has the power to make it happen reads this petition!

My favorite part of the Bards Tale Trilogy was fighting up to four groups of 8 monsters. Don't see that a lot these days. The story lines were great. And bring back that Gotterdamurung spell.

Bards tale was and still is a classic game. We need to see the game recreated in a 3d world for a totally immersive experience. Can you imagine Skara Brae in 3D? The origional 3 need to be re-released and a 4th in the series would be welcome.

Unlike most moronic so-called action games today, the Bard's Tale was unique in that you had to work things out.
