Email to Cheek.Org bounces or never gets replies

"I've been trying to send email to someone at Cheek.Org but I never get a reply, or I get a reply saying that it was not deliverable due to a non-existant address, because it was suspected to be spam, or even because it contained a virus."

First thing is to double-check the address. To reduce spam, Cheek.Org has recently changed many of the addresses found on this website and has also disabled the "catch-all" or default address to which all mis-addressed mail had previously been forwarded. Check the address and try sending again. If you still have problems, try sending to $mail:troy2007$ and be sure to mention the other address you were trying.

Cheek.Org does not currently bounce messages due to suspected spam or viruses. However, email coming to Cheek.Org does pass through several other mail servers and systems before it gets to us. We have no control over these other servers and systems.

If your email to Cheek.Org simply never gets a reply, it is possible that it was bounced because of one of the problems mentioned above and the bounce message did not reach you. It is also possible that your email was mistakenly identified as spam and discarded. It is also possible that the reader felt no reply was expected or desired.

To maximize the chances that your email will reach its recipient at Cheek.Org and receive a reponse:

  1. Double-check the address you are sending to. Addresses at Cheek.Org change from time to time. When in doubt, send to the current default address of $mail:troy2007$
  2. Double-check your own address as given in your emails. Any replies will go to this address, and it's amazing how many people give invalid addresses here.
  3. Send the email in plain text format. No HTML or fancy formating commands, please.
  4. Do not attach or encode any files with the email, such as background images, watermarks, stationery, or program files.
  5. Use a descriptive subject line and not just single a word of greeting or a name or a section of my website. These are commonly used by spammers and viruses.
  6. If a response is expected, mention that in the email.

I hope this helps and I hope to hear from you soon!
